Description
Saturday, January 19, 2019 – 1:00 pm
When Zak signed up for a three-year enlistment with the Marine Corps in 1967, the United States was already well embroiled in the Vietnam War. A native of Queens and a college student at the time, he set off for the jungles of Southeast Asia to fight in a difficult war. During his 13-month tour, he documented his day-to-day life whenever he had access to a camera, capturing images of the Vietnamese countryside, the people he encountered, and his fellow Marines. Fifty-plus years later, he shares these images and describes his experiences.
Members Free; Non-Members $5. Includes light refreshments + admission to current exhibits. RSVP Requested: 631-727-2881 x100.
